The stone's situation adds a further layer of uncertainty. It was not originally placed here; at some point it was removed from another, unrecorded location and incorporated into the present wall. That displacement matters. Ogham stones are typically read in the context of where they were found, often near early Christian sites, burial grounds, or territorial boundaries, and that context can help confirm their purpose and date. Without knowing where this boulder came from, even a confident identification of the script would raise more questions than it answered. As it stands, the stone occupies an ambiguous position, physically and historically, half built into a wall, half pointing toward a past that can no longer be fully reconstructed.
