Cairns
A cairn, at its most basic, is a mound of stones heaped up by human hands, and the one at Breeoge in County Sligo is quietly odd in a way that takes a moment to register.
It presents itself as sub-rectangular and flat-topped, roughly twenty metres across and rising somewhere between one and a half and two and a half metres depending on where you measure it. That shape is the puzzle. Cairns of this type are almost always circular, and this one almost certainly was too.
