The wall is essentially all that survives to any meaningful height, and yet it holds enough detail to reward a careful look. Set into its centre is a small window, possibly Romanesque in date, with a triangular head and a stepped base, a relatively unusual combination that points to a building with some architectural ambition, even if its full extent is now lost.

The church is a long rectangular structure, roughly 24 to 27 metres east to west and about 7.5 metres north to south, built from large coursed blocks of limestone interspersed with blocks of red sandstone. The two-tone stonework gives the surviving wall a distinctive appearance. The window itself has an inner rounded arch and an external pointed one, a feature recorded as early as a 1942 survey, and the contrast between those two arch forms is characteristic of the transitional period in Irish ecclesiastical architecture when Romanesque influences were still present but beginning to give way to Gothic forms. No doorway or other architectural features remain visible. A tower house, a fortified residential structure of the kind commonly built by Irish and Anglo-Norman families from the 14th century onwards, stands nearby, suggesting that this was once a site of some local significance, with ecclesiastical and secular structures in relatively close proximity. The ruins sit within a graveyard, which continues to define the site's character even as the church itself has largely dissolved back into the ground.
