Churches & Chapels
Some places survive only as rumour, persisting in local memory long after every physical trace has vanished.
At Artnalevery in County Louth, there is said to have been a church and graveyard at a location known as Mullacille, yet nothing remains above ground to confirm it. No wall, no foundation, no worn headstone. Just the tradition itself, passed along and eventually committed to the archaeological record as exactly what it is: an absence with a name.
