Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (13.3%), textile worker (5.4%), general labourer (4.7%) and farm labourer (3.9%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 17.5% of all Heaneys, followed by textiles & clothing, general labourers and domestic service.
What religion is Heaney?
Most Heaneys, 68.2%, were Roman Catholic. The remainder were mostly Anglican (15.2%), Presbyterian (11.2%), Methodist (2%) and Plymouth Brethren (1.9%).
