The McMenamins were heavily concentrated in Donegal, home to 57.7% of them (650 people). Next came Tyrone (330), Derry (76), Antrim (20) and Fermanagh (16).

Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 26.5% of all McMenamins, followed by textiles & clothing, domestic service and general labourers.
