England in 1911 Ireland
The 1911 Census recorded 246 people named England in Ireland; roughly one in every 18,000 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 115 men and 129 women. (A small number, 2, had no sex recorded.)

Armagh was England country: 29.3% of them (72 people) lived there in 1911. Next came Dublin (34), Down (31), Cork (25) and Antrim (20).
England average age in 1911
The average England in 1911 was 30.0 years old, 28.8 for men and 31.0 for women; almost exactly in line with the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.
England literacy in 1911
Of the Englands whose literacy was recorded, 84.7% could both read and write, 3.1% could read but not write, and 12.2% could do neither. Women came out slightly ahead, 86.2% reading and writing against 83% of men. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.
England common first names
The most common male names were Joseph (10), John, Thomas, Richard and Robert. For women it was Elizabeth (10), followed by Ellen, Annie, Mary and Jane.
England occupations in 1911
The most common entry on an England's census form was "Scholar"; 20.3% (50) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (9.8%), textile worker (7.7%), metal worker / engineer (2.8%) and domestic servant (2.4%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 11% of all Englands, followed by textiles & clothing, domestic service and metal & engineering.
What religion is England?
Most Englands, 62.2%, were Anglican. The remainder were mostly Roman Catholic (22%), Methodist (6.1%), Presbyterian (6.1%) and Salvation Army (1.6%).
