The most common male names were John (20), Michael, Patrick, Thomas and James; the same five names that topped the list nationally. For women it was Bridget (17), followed by Mary, Catherine, Katie and Margaret.

The most common occupation among Clohessys was farmer, 23.4% of them (46 people). Next came scholar / student (13.7%), general labourer (5.6%), farm labourer (5.1%) and domestic servant (3%).
