Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 6.9% of all Beales, followed by general labourers, domestic service and no occupation / dependent.

The largest religious group among Beales was Roman Catholic, at 49.1%. The remainder were mostly Anglican (26.3%), Quaker (13.1%) and Presbyterian (10.9%).
