Of the Lightbodys whose literacy was recorded, 76.7% could both read and write, 4.4% could read but not write, and 18.9% could do neither. The figures were much the same for men and women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were James (13), John, William, Robert and Hugh. For women it was Mary (10), followed by Jane, Agnes, Annie and Elizabeth.
Lightbody occupations in 1911
The most common entry on a Lightbody's census form was "Scholar"; 22.6% (37) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were general labourer (9.1%), domestic servant (4.9%), farm labourer (4.3%) and seamstress (4.3%). Grouped by sector, general labourers accounted for 9.1% of all Lightbodys, followed by textiles & clothing, agriculture and domestic service.
What religion is Lightbody?
Most Lightbodys, 52.4%, were Presbyterian. The remainder were mostly Anglican (43.3%), Methodist (2.4%) and Roman Catholic (1.2%).
