Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

Among the rest, the most common occupations were general labourer (9.4%), domestic servant (3.8%), farmer (2.8%) and medical / nursing (2.8%). Grouped by sector, general labourers accounted for 9.4% of all Plucks, followed by agriculture, transport and domestic service.
