The 1911 Census recorded 103 people named Cremins in Ireland; roughly one in every 43,000 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 51 men and 52 women.
Counties with Cremins in Ireland
The Creminses were heavily concentrated in Kerry, home to 53.4% of them (55 people). Next came Tipperary (18), Limerick (16), Cork (9) and Westmeath (3).

The average Cremins in 1911 was 24.4 years old, 22.8 for men and 25.9 for women; noticeably younger than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.
Cremins literacy in 1911
Of the Creminses whose literacy was recorded, 71.4% could both read and write, 4.1% could read but not write, and 24.5% could do neither. Women came out slightly ahead, 80% reading and writing against 62.5% of men. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were Denis (10), John, Patrick, Daniel and James. For women it was Mary (9), followed by Catherine, Bridget, Kate and Catherina.
Cremins occupations in 1911
The most common entry on a Cremins's census form was "Scholar"; 35% (36) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (13.6%), farm labourer (4.9%), general labourer (4.9%) and clerk / office worker (1.9%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 18.4% of all Creminses, followed by general labourers, clerical & administration and domestic service.
