Antrim had the largest share of Bradeys, 24.2% (16 people). Next came Cork (13), Mayo (7), Down (6) and Tyrone (6).

The average Bradey in 1911 was 38.1 years old, 33.4 for men and 44.3 for women; noticeably older than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.
Bradey literacy in 1911
Of the Bradeys whose literacy was recorded, 79.7% could both read and write, 7.8% could read but not write, and 12.5% could do neither. Men came out slightly ahead, 80.6% reading and writing against 77.8% of women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were James (5), John, Michael, Patrick and Peter. For women it was Mary (5), followed by Ellen, Margaret, Rose and Catherine.

The most common occupation among Bradeys was farm labourer, 12.1% of them (8 people). Next came farmer (10.6%), general labourer (7.6%), scholar / student (7.6%) and shopkeeper / shop assistant / dealer (7.6%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 22.7% of all Bradeys, followed by retail & commerce, domestic service and general labourers.

Bradeys were overwhelmingly Roman Catholic, 93.9% of them. The remainder were mostly Anglican (3%) and Presbyterian (3%).
