Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 16.9% of all Megraws, followed by retail & commerce, transport and food & drink.

The largest religious group among Megraws was Presbyterian, at 49.2%. The remainder were mostly Roman Catholic (20.3%), Congregationalist (13.6%), Non-Conformist (10.2%) and Anglican (6.8%).
