Barrow (Ring Barrow), Drumconor, Co. Donegal

In the rolling countryside of Drumconor, County Donegal, lies a ring-barrow that stands as a silent witness to Ireland's ancient past.

This prehistoric monument, like many others scattered across the Irish landscape, represents the burial traditions of communities who lived here thousands of years ago. Ring-barrows typically consist of a circular ditch with an internal bank, often surrounding a central burial mound, and were commonly constructed during the Bronze Age period between 2500 and 500 BC.
