The wall measures roughly 5.3 metres in length, and roughly 12.7 metres to the east, the opposite end of the building survives only as sod-covered foundations. Between those two points, almost nothing else remains above ground except slight traces of the north wall, leaving the shape of the original structure legible more by absence than by presence.

The church was known as Kilcurfin, or Templecurraheen, and it was already a ruin by 1615, according to a record noted by Brady in 1863. When the antiquarian Power visited and described the site in 1918, the west gable was, in his words, practically entire but completely covered with ivy, and he also noted that a large fragment of the north side had recently fallen, which helps explain why so little of that wall now survives. The graveyard contains one particularly notable monument in its south-east corner: a chest tomb, a type of raised rectangular monument common in post-medieval Irish burial grounds, belonging to the Coppingers of Barryscourt. The Coppingers were a prominent Cork family associated with Barryscourt Castle in nearby Carrigtwohill, and their presence here in stone reflects the kind of landed family patronage that shaped many such rural church sites across Munster.
