Stone Monuments
In the flat pasture of Kilnagnady in West Cork, a single rectangular stone rises just over a metre from the ground.
It measures roughly a metre wide and less than half a metre thick, making it broader than it is deep, a proportionally unusual shape that gives it a slab-like presence rather than the tapered, pointed silhouette more commonly associated with prehistoric standing stones in Ireland. There is no dramatic hillside backdrop, no obvious astronomical alignment to speak of, just a stone in a field.
