The raised ground forms a sub-rectangular shape, roughly 23.5 metres along its north-west to south-east axis and up to 15.4 metres across, bounded to the south by an existing field boundary. What makes it quietly compelling is not its size but what that shape implies: an enclosure, almost certainly of early medieval origin, where people once organised their domestic or agricultural world within a defined and deliberate boundary.

The enclosure retains an internal bank along both its south-east and north-west sides, still standing to around half a metre in height, which is a reasonable survival given the centuries of farming that have passed over it. More intriguing is the possible souterrain noted in the north-west corner. A souterrain is an underground stone-lined passage or chamber, typically associated with early medieval ringforts and enclosures across Ireland, and thought to have served for storage, refuge, or both. Their presence often signals that a site was more than a simple field boundary and had a domestic or defensive function. Whether the feature here is a true souterrain or something else has not been confirmed, but the possibility alone adds a subterranean dimension to what is otherwise a modest earthwork in an otherwise ordinary field.
