The Story of Co. Kildare

On the edge of the great plain of the Curragh, Kildare, Cill Dara, “the church of the oak” grew around the monastery founded by St Brigid, one of Ireland’s three patron saints. For centuries it was the power base of the Geraldine earls, and its open grasslands have been linked with horses since the days of legend.
