A quiet county of bog and farmland, Longford, An Longfort, was the territory of the O’Farrell clan, lords of Annaly. Buried in its bogs lay the Corlea Trackway, an Iron Age road of oak planks built over two thousand years ago, one of the finest of its kind found anywhere in Europe.
