Barrows
In the townland of Clenagh in County Clare, there is a recorded barrow, one of those low, rounded earthen mounds that punctuate the Irish landscape and are so easily mistaken for a natural rise in the ground.
Barrows are among the oldest monument types found in Ireland, serving as burial mounds during the Bronze Age and sometimes earlier, their interiors occasionally containing cremated remains, pottery, or small personal objects placed with the dead. This particular example carries the quiet distinction of being known to archaeology while remaining largely undescribed in any accessible public record.
