Toberrooaun as a place name is worth a moment's attention. Whether that naming tradition intersects in any meaningful way with the barrow nearby is not recorded, but the coincidence of an ancient burial monument and a well-derived place name is not unusual in the Irish countryside, where different layers of significance tend to accumulate around the same patches of ground across long stretches of time.
