Bullaun stone (present location), Ceann Trá, Co. Kerry

In a garden in Ventry village on the Dingle Peninsula, a large flat stone sits with a deep circular hollow worn or carved into its surface.
This is a bullaun stone, a type of ancient monument found across Ireland, typically a boulder or slab bearing one or more cup-shaped depressions that were likely used for grinding, ritual, or both. What makes this particular example quietly interesting is that it almost did not survive at all.
