The grave markers here are low, uninscribed, and aligned east to west in the old Christian tradition, the bodies oriented so that the rising sun would meet the face of the deceased at resurrection. Nobody recorded who these people were, and the stones themselves offer nothing. By 1905, when the Ordnance Survey mapped the area at six inches to the mile, the ground was already marked as disused, a place that had outlived its last mourner by some unknowable stretch of time.

The burial ground occupies the south-eastern quadrant of an early ecclesiastical enclosure, the kind of roughly circular or oval boundary, often formed by a raised earthen bank or curving ditch, that in Ireland typically marks the footprint of an early Christian monastic or church site. Here, that enclosure arc forms the eastern and southern edges of the cemetery, while two stone-built banks, running at right angles to each other, complete the boundary on the remaining sides. The banks stand around 0.6 metres high on the interior and 0.4 metres on the exterior, modest in scale but carefully made. The whole area covers a roughly quadrant-shaped plot measuring approximately 22 metres north to south and 33 metres east to west, a modest patch of ground that once served a community now equally forgotten.
