Known locally as the graveyard field, the site has yielded bones in its vicinity, suggesting that what the land holds in memory it has also, at times, returned to the surface. No church stands nearby to explain it, no headstones mark it out; the designation survives almost entirely in local knowledge rather than in any visible feature of the landscape.
