Church, Goleen, Co. Cork

Goleen sits at the far southwestern tip of the Mizen Peninsula in County Cork, a small village that looks out towards Fastnet Rock and the open Atlantic.

Somewhere within or close to this settlement stands a church monument significant enough to have earned its own place in Ireland's national record of archaeological sites, though the details of what precisely survives, and from what period, remain for the moment difficult to pin down.
