That gap in the record is itself a kind of curiosity. Ireland holds hundreds of such sites, early and medieval ecclesiastical remains ranging from roofless stone shells to barely perceptible earthworks, and Tullaher's church is one of those that has not yet had its story formally set down in a retrievable way. What remains on the ground, who built it, and when it fell out of use are questions that the site itself may answer better than any document currently can.
