There is an oval enclosure in the townland of Ballyhomulta in County Clare that has, in formal terms, never quite been acknowledged.
It does not appear in either the Sites and Monuments Record of 1992 or the Record of Monuments and Places of 1996, the two principal catalogues used to identify and protect archaeological sites in Ireland. It exists in the landscape but not, officially, in the record.
