Enclosures
There is something quietly uncanny about an archaeological site that is, by official account, invisible.
At Bohereens in County Kerry, a small enclosure was reported as surviving in low remains across a patch of level, short-grassed pasture. When investigators arrived to look, there was nothing to see. No earthwork, no ridge, no hollow. The ground gave nothing away.
