No earthwork survives, no ridge in the turf, no shadow at low sun to hint at anything buried beneath. The site is not marked on any edition of the Ordnance Survey six-inch maps, which were compiled across multiple revisions from the nineteenth century onward and remain the standard baseline for locating historic features across the Irish landscape. Whatever was here left no trace that cartographers or field-walkers ever recorded.

What is known comes from a single aerial image, referenced as GSI G106-7, Roll 157, Print 27, in which a subcircular feature is visible on gently sloping reclaimed bog. Aerial photography of this kind routinely reveals enclosures, the general term for a defined area bounded by a bank, ditch, or wall, that have been levelled by centuries of agriculture or, as here, lost beneath bog that was later drained and brought into use. The reclamation of the bog itself is part of why nothing remains at ground level; the processes that made the land workable also erased whatever physical boundary once defined this place. The shape captured in that photograph, a rough circle or near-circle, is a form associated across Ireland with early settlement, activity enclosures, or funerary use, though without excavation it is impossible to say which category, if any, applies here.
