The only visible evidence is a slight but noticeable rise in the surface of the track, a swell in the ground roughly thirty metres long on a north-south axis, marking what were once the outer limits of a circular earthwork. Step into the fields on either side and there is nothing to see at all.

The enclosure appears on Ordnance Survey six-inch maps from both 1837 and 1919, recorded as a circular feature approximately thirty metres in diameter, bisected slightly west of centre by a road running north to south. It is classified as a possible rath, a term for a type of enclosed farmstead, typically of early medieval date, usually defined by one or more earthen banks and ditches surrounding a central living area. By the time surveyors were capturing the Irish landscape in fine cartographic detail, this one was already being eaten into by a road. At some point after 1919 it was levelled entirely, the earthworks absorbed into the surrounding pasture. The road itself survives as a farm track, 3.5 metres wide and bordered by field walls, cutting through what would once have been the interior of the enclosure. The landscape around it is gently undulating, ordinary-looking agricultural ground, the kind that rarely prompts a second glance.

What makes this place quietly interesting is precisely that quality of absence. The maps record something that the ground no longer shows, and the only physical trace left is that gentle ridge beneath the track surface, the compressed memory of a boundary that once meant something to whoever lived within it.
