It exists, at least in any practically visible form, only from the air. A cropmark, the faint differential growth in grass or grain that betrays buried structures beneath the soil, reveals an oval ring roughly thirty metres east to west and twenty-two metres north to south. At its centre sits a further circular feature around ten metres in diameter. The whole thing is invisible to anyone standing in the field.

Cropmarks appear when buried walls, ditches, or pits affect how moisture reaches plant roots, causing subtle variations in colour or height that become legible in aerial photographs, particularly during dry spells in summer. What exactly this enclosure once was remains unresolved. The oval shape and the presence of a central feature suggest something deliberate and structured, possibly a ring enclosure of the kind associated with early settlement, ritual use, or enclosure of livestock, though without excavation any interpretation stays tentative. What makes the site additionally curious is its relationship to the surrounding field system, a mapped network of historic field boundaries in the same area. The enclosure sits within that system but does not appear to have been absorbed into it; the later field boundaries seem to have developed around it rather than through it, which hints that when those fields were laid out, something of the enclosure, perhaps a raised bank or a visible depression, may still have been apparent on the surface.
