Field boundary, Rathosey, Co. Sligo
Co. Sligo |
Ritual/Ceremonial
In the planted forests of County Sligo, a field boundary wall quietly resists being forgotten.
The remnants extend westward and then south-westward from the nearby Rathosey enclosure, tracing what was once a deliberate division of land, though the dense forest plantation that now covers the area makes following its course a frustrating exercise. It is the kind of archaeological feature that asks more questions than it answers, precisely because so little of it remains legible.
