The enclosure measures roughly 46.5 metres east to west and 22 metres north to south, defined by a relatively modern boundary wall that reaches up to 1.5 metres in height. What gives the place its quiet sense of irregularity is the church sitting off-centre toward the eastern end, leaving the concentration of headstones to gather on the western, northern, and eastern sides rather than distributing themselves in any obvious symmetry around it.

The oldest legible headstone dates to 1772 and stands due south of the western end of the church's south wall, a modest anchor point for a burial ground that grew steadily through the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Alongside the inscribed stones there are occasional low, uninscribed grave markers, the kind that mark a burial without naming anyone, common enough in Irish graveyards where cost or custom made plain fieldstone a practical alternative to carved memorials. The most recent headstone recorded dates to 2007, which means this is not a site frozen in time but one that continued to receive the dead well into living memory, layering centuries of local history into a relatively compact trapezoidal plot on a Tipperary hillside.
