At Knockuregare in County Limerick, a roughly square enclosure, measuring approximately 34 metres north to south and 34 metres east to west, marks the site where the medieval church of Uregare once stood. The regularity of the shape is itself a quiet clue; medieval ecclesiastical enclosures often followed deliberate geometric plans, and this one has held its form even as the building it contained has long since disappeared.

The church is recorded in the Sites and Monuments Record as LI039-046001-, placing it within a broader landscape of early and medieval religious activity in Limerick. The enclosing wall that surrounds the graveyard today is a later addition, built after 1700, and the entrance gate is positioned on the western side, a placement with some precedent in ecclesiastical tradition. The site was compiled by Caimin O'Brien and uploaded to the record in May 2019, drawing together what survives of the physical and documentary evidence for a place whose origins stretch back to the medieval period.

The graveyard sits within the townland of Knockuregare, and the post-1700 stone wall gives the site a settled, maintained appearance that can make its greater age easy to underestimate. Visitors approaching through the western gate should look at the interior dimensions and consider that the ground plan of the vanished church is effectively preserved by the enclosure itself. There is no surviving masonry from the medieval building to examine above ground, so the interest lies in reading the landscape carefully, noting the wall line, the scale of the enclosure, and whatever grave markers remain within it. The site repays a slow, attentive visit rather than a quick one.
