The middle one of the three is easy to miss: a roughly six-metre square of grass-covered wall footings, its western edge cut away by a later field wall that now borders a laneway. What survives is enough to read the shape of a dwelling, though not enough to date it with any confidence.

When the site was surveyed in 1986, the house appeared as a defined square area with footings still visible on its northern, eastern, and southern sides. Immediately to the east lay a shallow rectilinear depression, slightly longer than it is wide at around 3.5 by 8 metres, with what may be traces of walling along its eastern edge. The three houses together sit on the tip of a low east-west ridge, and a ringfort lies roughly forty metres to the east. Ringforts are enclosed farmsteads typically dating from the early medieval period, though the proximity here does not necessarily link the houses to that era; rural Mayo accumulated layers of settlement across many centuries, and without excavation the date of these structures remains genuinely open.

What makes the grouping quietly interesting is the deliberateness of the arrangement. Three houses, closely set, sharing the same orientation, occupying a ridge-tip beside an older enclosure: this is not a scatter of isolated ruins but something that looks, even in outline, like a planned cluster. Whether that planning reflects a single period of construction or several phases of use that happened to follow the same logic, the grass-covered footings do not say.
