It is roughly circular, measuring about eight metres north to south and six and a half east to west, and is defined by a low, sod-covered stone bank no more than thirty to forty centimetres high on its outer face. That modest scale is part of what makes it curious: the wall is real and deliberate, but the whole thing has the tentative quality of something that was never quite finished, or that time has been slowly reclaiming for centuries.

What gives the site a little more character is a sunken oblong feature just inside the stone bank on the eastern side. Roughly four metres long, one metre wide, and dropping to around sixty centimetres at its deepest, it is partly filled with stones, including one large slab. Whether this was a threshold, a storage pit, or something connected with the building's construction is not clear, and no date has been assigned to the structure. The surrounding pasture is dotted with field clearance cairns, the small heaps of stone that generations of farmers dragged from the ground to make cultivation possible, and two metres to the north-west sits a rath, the remains of an early medieval ringfort. That proximity is suggestive, though not conclusive: raths were often focal points for later settlement and agricultural activity, and the house may be connected to that longer pattern of use, or may belong to an entirely different period. At present, brambles and ferns obscure much of the site, which is perhaps why it remains so little noticed.
