The reference comes from Clarke's 2002 study of medieval Dublin, which notes the existence of the structure without pinning it to a precise location. What the house was, who owned it, whether it formed part of a larger property, and when it disappeared are questions the surviving record does not answer.

There is nothing to visit here in any conventional sense. The south Liffey bank has been built over, demolished, rebuilt, and remodelled across seven centuries, and no physical trace of this structure has been identified. Its interest lies precisely in its near-total absence from the record. For anyone walking the quays today and looking across the water, it is worth knowing that buried somewhere beneath the streets and foundations is the ghost of a building that a single passing reference has kept, just barely, from vanishing altogether.
