Settlement Sites
On the summit of a ridge in Kelshabeg, County Wicklow, there sits a modest circular hut site, somewhere between six and seven metres in diameter, tucked into the south-eastern corner of a larger oval enclosure.
That positioning is itself quietly telling. Whoever built and used this structure chose not to place it at the centre of the enclosed space but at its edge, sheltered within the arc of the boundary, looking out from high ground.
