This rath, measuring approximately 50 metres across, is defined by a weathered earthen embankment that appears to have once been reinforced with stone; a technique that would have provided both structural support and an imposing appearance. The best preserved section of this ancient fortification can be found along the south-southeast portion, where the original construction methods remain most visible.

The defensive features of this ringfort include what may have been a fosse, or protective ditch, still partially visible along the northern perimeter. This shallow, waterlogged channel measures roughly 1.5 metres in width, though modern agricultural improvements have obscured much of its original extent; contemporary drainage systems now incorporate sections to both the east and west. The western side of the fort, which faces onto a working farmyard, shows considerable wear with multiple breaches in the embankment, likely created over centuries of agricultural use.

The interior of the ringfort maintains the natural westward to eastward slope of the surrounding landscape and remains covered in grass, offering visitors a glimpse of how these structures integrated with their environment. This prominent hilltop position would have provided the fort's inhabitants with commanding views across the river valley below, whilst the wet, boggy ground characteristic of this part of Donegal would have added an extra layer of natural defence against potential attackers.
