Utility Structures
Inis Oírr, the smallest of the three Aran Islands off the Galway coast, holds more structures per square kilometre than almost anywhere else in Ireland, which makes it quietly remarkable that one of them remains so uncharacterised that its formal record contains almost nothing at all.
Classified simply as a structure, it sits in the official inventory as a placeholder rather than a portrait, a named thing without a story attached, at least not yet one that has been committed to the public record.
