The Bodels were heavily concentrated in Antrim, home to 75% of them (69 people). Next came Down (13), Cavan (5), Dublin (3) and Offaly (2).

That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. Of the Bodels whose literacy was recorded, 81.3% could both read and write, 5.5% could read but not write, and 13.2% could do neither. Men came out slightly ahead, 89.5% reading and writing against 75.5% of women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were William (5), Samuel, Robert, Alexander and Hamilton. For women it was Elizabeth (5), followed by Eliza, Margaret, Annie and Mary.

The most common occupation among Bodels was textile worker, 16.3% of them (15 people). Next came scholar / student (10.9%), metal worker / engineer (7.6%), farmer (4.3%) and general labourer (4.3%). Grouped by sector, textiles & clothing accounted for 18.5% of all Bodels, followed by metal & engineering, agriculture and general labourers.

The largest religious group among Bodels was Anglican, at 47.8%. The remainder were mostly Presbyterian (34.8%), Methodist (9.8%), Roman Catholic (3.3%) and Congregationalist (2.2%).
