The Coolicans were heavily concentrated in Mayo, home to 76.9% of them (40 people). Next came Dublin (7), Westmeath (4) and Kildare (1).

Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (17.3%), shopkeeper / shop assistant / dealer (3.8%), clerk / office worker (1.9%) and domestic servant (1.9%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 17.3% of all Coolicans, followed by retail & commerce, clerical & administration and domestic service.
What religion is Coolican?
Coolicans were overwhelmingly Roman Catholic, 96.2% of them. The remainder were mostly Anglican (3.8%).
