Of the Crimminses whose literacy was recorded, 78.5% could both read and write, 2.1% could read but not write, and 19.4% could do neither. Women came out slightly ahead, 79.7% reading and writing against 77.3% of men. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were John (13), Patrick, Michael, Joseph and Denis. For women it was Mary (14), followed by Margaret, Ellen, Elizabeth and Bridget.

The most common entry on a Crimmins's census form was "Scholar"; 31.1% (46) were children at school. Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (7.4%), other maker / factory worker (4.1%), dressmaker / milliner (2.7%) and general labourer (2.7%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 8.1% of all Crimminses, followed by textiles & clothing, manufacturing & trades and domestic service.
What religion is Crimmins?
Crimminses were overwhelmingly Roman Catholic, 97.3% of them. The remainder were mostly Methodist (1.4%).
