The 1911 Census recorded 317 people named Crone in Ireland; roughly one in every 14,000 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 155 men and 161 women. (A small number, 1, had no sex recorded.)

Antrim was Crone country: 44.5% of them (141 people) lived there in 1911. Next came Cork (62), Down (36), Dublin (36) and Kildare (17).

Crone average age in 1911
The average Crone in 1911 was 26.9 years old, 26.1 for men and 27.6 for women; noticeably younger than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.
Crone literacy in 1911
Of the Crones whose literacy was recorded, 79.4% could both read and write, 3.5% could read but not write, and 17.1% could do neither. Men came out slightly ahead, 81.6% reading and writing against 77.2% of women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

Grouped by sector, textiles & clothing accounted for 7.6% of all Crones, followed by agriculture, domestic service and retail & commerce.
