Among the rest, the most common occupations were domestic servant (6%), farm labourer (4.8%), no occupation / dependent (4.8%) and shopkeeper / shop assistant / dealer (3.6%). Grouped by sector, domestic service accounted for 13.1% of all Despards, followed by agriculture, professional and no occupation / dependent.

Most Despards, 51.2%, were Roman Catholic. The remainder were mostly Anglican (40.5%), Plymouth Brethren (1.2%) and Presbyterian (1.2%).
