Of the Fallses whose literacy was recorded, 79.8% could both read and write, 2.8% could read but not write, and 17.4% could do neither. Men came out slightly ahead, 81% reading and writing against 78.8% of women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were James (8), John, Thomas, David and Patrick. For women it was Mary (8), followed by Annie, Maggie, Margaret and Elizabeth.

The most common occupation among Fallses was farmer, 17.4% of them (32 people). Next came scholar / student (16.3%), textile worker (8.7%), no occupation / dependent (3.8%) and farm labourer (3.3%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 20.7% of all Fallses, followed by textiles & clothing, no occupation / dependent and retail & commerce.

The largest religious group among Fallses was Anglican, at 41.8%. The remainder were mostly Roman Catholic (40.8%), Presbyterian (13.6%) and Methodist (3.8%).
