Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 15% of all Fultons, followed by textiles & clothing, general labourers and retail & commerce.

Most Fultons, 55.3%, were Presbyterian. The remainder were mostly Anglican (24.3%), Roman Catholic (10.2%), Methodist (4.6%) and Baptist (1.6%).
