Good in 1911 Ireland
The 1911 Census recorded 634 people named Good in Ireland; roughly one in every 6,900 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 309 men and 323 women. (A small number, 2, had no sex recorded.)
Counties with Good in Ireland
The Goods were heavily concentrated in Cork, home to 75.1% of them (476 people). Next came Dublin (63), Cavan (23), Antrim (17) and Waterford (13).

Good average age in 1911
The average Good in 1911 was 32.0 years old, 32.1 for men and 31.9 for women; slightly older than the national averages of 29.6 for men and 30.5 for women. That low figure reflects just how many children there were in Edwardian Ireland, along with high infant mortality and the limits of public health at the time. For comparison, average life expectancy in Ireland today is around 83.
Good literacy in 1911
Of the Goods whose literacy was recorded, 84.7% could both read and write, 1.8% could read but not write, and 13.5% could do neither. The figures were much the same for men and women. Bear in mind these figures include young children; the census itself only counted people aged nine and over when calculating illiteracy, on the grounds that it was unfair to label a child illiterate before they'd had a chance to learn.

The most common male names were John (41), James, William, Thomas and Robert. For women it was Mary (28), followed by Jane, Elizabeth, Susan and Annie.

Among the rest, the most common occupations were farmer (16.4%), shopkeeper / shop assistant / dealer (4.3%), general labourer (2.8%) and farm labourer (1.7%). Grouped by sector, agriculture accounted for 18.5% of all Goods, followed by retail & commerce, professional and general labourers.
