The 1911 Census recorded 607 people named Guinan in Ireland; roughly one in every 7,200 people carried the name. The name was split fairly evenly between men and women: 327 men and 280 women.

The Guinans were heavily concentrated in Offaly, home to 62.9% of them (382 people). Next came Dublin (47), Tipperary (41), Galway (26) and Roscommon (24).
